The workshop teaches techniques for turning old, holed, or thrifted sweaters into fabulous warm hats. Participants will learn two basic sweater-to-hat techniques and several variations on each. Pick up a sweater at the Swap, or bring a sweater you loved until it got that terrible stain... The hats are easy and fun to make, and take only ten or fifteen minutes to complete.

Rachel has been making clothing since the age of 8, giving her almost 30 years of experience. She has worked in all areas of clothing production from garment factories to professional dressmaking. More recently, she has designed and made custom wedding dresses and other special occasion items. She likes to create everyday clothing from fake fur, satin, velvet, and other soft or beautifully textured fabrics, giving a rich contrast between the luxurious materials and the practical silhouettes.
